Chunko's is an all Biker, all American all Legion Riders team. After a hard ride we would start talking "smack" and brag about our cooking skills while smoking & grilling for the group. Often the meat on the grill was not the only thing that got roasted them nights. We started competing to learn more about our craft & to be with others that share our passion.

I kicked it all off in 2002, unfortunatley at the time this was not my thing, I ruined most of the meat I cooked BUT NOT ALL OF IT! I continued on for about 5 years, then cashed it in. About 1 yr later I picked back up and began doing some different things here and there. I went to comp with my brother and I was hooked, the next year I figured I would try the competition scene and here I am!

What started out with a Char-Grill and a Masterbuilt smoker has turned into a passion. I have actually been helping smoke meats since I was about 8 helping my dad who worked at Faltin's Meat Market in Howells, NE. After visiting every BBQ joint in Kansas City and points in between, I was inspired to come up with the traits of what I liked from their BBQ and combine them into the meat and dishes that I am proud of. Currently living in Cornlea, NE we enjoy doing contests with the group along with cooking for friends and doing cookouts for charity causes.

Tod and Tori (brother and sister) will likely do the majority of food prep and cooking while our patriarch, Tim will oversee and watch the temp gauges. Tim also has a keen eye for the perfect cut of meat or rack of ribs.
